Microneedling – how does it work and what are the benefits?

Microneedling Dubai is a process that involves a small device that houses microneedles which vary in length from 0.5 to 3.0mm. These microneedles are small enough to not cause any issues but large enough to create punctures that stimulate the body to begin self-repair. When damaged, the body’s production of collagen and elastin is increased in order to compensate.

As a result of this increase in elastin and collagen production, skin elasticity is increased, and a smoother more plump appearance is achieved. While Microneedling in Dubai is suitable for everyone, there are a few exceptions where we recommend against having the procedure carried out. These include:

Treatment

Before we can begin with any Dubai Microneedling treatment regimen, our specialists will first ensure that the treatment is tailored to the specific needs of the patient. This will be determined beforehand during a consultation and discussed with the patient in depth. As mentioned above, different length needles are available – the length used will be determined by your skin type as well as other factors.

To ensure that you remain comfortable throughout the procedure, your skin is first anaesthetised using a topical cream. This cream is highly effective at numbing the area so you won’t feel any pain or discomfort. A device will then be used to create the punctures necessary to stimulate your body’s own natural healing process. Once this has been accomplished, your first Microneedling Dubai session will be completed!

While symptoms can last for up to two days, most only experience mild symptoms for a few hours. Such symptoms include:

  • Bruising
  • Erythema (red patches)
  • Mild swelling
  • Pinpoint bleeding
  • Redness

While individual treatment plans will vary, several treatments are usually required, and these are often spread out over the course of 4-6 weeks. It’s worth bearing in mind that these treatments aren’t permanent and additional treatments will be required every 6-9 months to maintain the effect. Results will depend on the individual but can take anywhere from 3-12 months to become visible.
